Editing Your Website
Every website we build is tailored to your needs — which means the way you edit it depends on the platform and features we’ve implemented.
How to Know What You’re Working With
We’ll always tell you what system your site is built on, and we’ll provide access or instructions for editing if it’s part of your project scope. Here are a few possibilities:
1. Custom Next.js Site
If we built your site from the ground up using Next.js, it’s likely headless and powered by an external CMS (like Strapi) — or intentionally static for performance.
- You won’t edit this like a traditional site
- If editing is needed, we’ll either handle it for you or integrate a CMS if scoped
- We do not provide FTP or server-level access for custom builds
Most clients prefer to email us requested changes, and we bill by the hour only when edits are needed — no monthly retainers required.
2. Static HTML Site
Occasionally, we’ll create a basic static site if that’s all you need.
- These sites don’t have a dashboard — edits are done manually
- You can request a full export of your files at any time
- If you’d like to convert your static site into something editable, let us know
3. Shopify Site
For Shopify-based stores:
- Log in at shopify.com
- From the admin, you can update product info, images, pages, and more
- We’ll provide training or documentation if needed
If we custom-developed features or layouts, those edits should go through us — just to ensure nothing breaks.
4. Self-Hosted CMS
In rare cases, your site might use a self-hosted CMS like WordPress or Strapi.
- We’ll provide logins and instructions if CMS access is part of your scope
- If something looks unfamiliar, just ask — we’ll walk you through it
Requesting Changes
If you’d rather not edit the site yourself — or you’re unsure how — just reach out. We keep backup copies of all builds and can make changes quickly.
Email support@nordaxdigital.com with a detailed list of edits, and we’ll send a quick estimate before making any changes.
Transparency Guarantee
Even though we work in modern frameworks and self-hosted systems, you always own your site. We document logins, give you access, and provide all deliverables upon request. No black box. No locked-in monthly fees.
